I am a Long Islander with a special connection to Amagansett and the East End. A pottery demonstration inspired me to take pottery, drawing, and sculpture classes in college, and I continue to explore various art forms and materials, including watercolor, acrylic, encaustic hot wax, stained glass, printmaking, and even a bit of welding. Hand-building sculptural vessels and fanciful fish out of clay has been a special interest. When the pandemic hit, kilns and pottery studios closed down, and I refocused my art energies on my acrylic paintings.

The texture I enjoy so much with clay often finds its way into my two-dimensional work. And although high-fire glazes tend to be muted, I am enjoying the explosions of color that are possible with acrylic paints. My past and present travels, education, and experiences intertwine in interesting and unexpected ways to help me explore and grow as a person and an artist.
